Forage for your food

1

Eating local is important, but so is having fun. And what’s more fun than eating a berry right off the bush?

Two sites we like for searching through all the state’s pick-your-own options are:
www.visitnh.gov/what-to-do/ Scroll down to the arrow that says “Attraction Type,” and select “Harvest Your Own.” Click “Go,” and you’ll see a list below of New Hampshire farms and their produce.
www.pickyourown.org/NH.htm This colorful site lets you search in seasonal ways, and it also includes instructions on how to can, freeze or dry your harvest.

Say, that's a great suggestion. We'll add that to the calendar of events on the site, too. Keep the great tips coming!

I wonder if there's any chance that Morel hunting is possible in New Hampshire? Any kind of mushroom, really ... they're tasty and fun to look for ... I believe the Nature Conservancy has a mushroom walk and cooking class coming up on June 18.

Here's the link to their events page:

I should probably sign up for it, now that the cat's out of the bag!
