Nancy Wood, green warrior

1

Nancy Wood enjoys being a warrior – you can see it in her eyes.

A few months back, we were on the hunt for some green people to profile, and we got a note from Nancy Wood – she nominated herself. We liked her spirit, so we immediately interrogated her. Her answers are below:

Name: Nancy Margaret Wood

Age: 60

Town you live in: Concord

Day job: Interface engineer at Concord Hospital

Three of the greenest things you do:
1. Keep the heat low in winter.
2. Recycle a lot.
3. Save vegetable scraps and bring them to a farmer who composts them.

Why you do it: I love the Earth and its occupants.

Your friends would call you a(n): I don’t know what they call me!

Advice for people who are just turning green: Start with one area you are comfortable working on like drying laundry on racks (instead of using a humidifier in winter), conserving water or using less stuff.

Biggest pet peeve: Some people will not make the effort to recycle – at least bottles, cans, paper.

(If you or a loved one are an example for us all who should be featured in the next issue of Green Living, send an e-mail to danielle@greenguidenh.com and tell us why!)
